MillerCoors hosted the BCPA Board Meeting featuring a Compliance Policy presentation by Lona Valentine and Abbot Thayer from Peck Shafer. Executive Director Mike Campbell announced that the BCPA received a $10,000 grant for the Local Govenment Innovation Fund implementation report in 2014.

Lee Wong is President of the Board of Trustees and leads the meeting. He was reelected in the recent election. This was the second meeting I have attended this year and I was able to sit and chat with Mike Juengling, Director of Planning and Economic Development.

On July 25th at the Butler County Fair the Master Development Agreement was signed by Liberty Township, Butler County Commissioners and Steiner. The $300M project will break ground in late 2013 or 2014 if financing is secured.

West Chester Township Trustees Meeting on June 11th

The BCPA Executive Director attended the West Chester Township Trustee meeting held at the Administration Building on Cincinnati-Dayton road. This is the first meeting that Mr. Campbell has attended in over a year. A couple of months ago the BCPA held a Board Meeting in the facility.

Rick Pearce just started this month as Chamber CEO. Chuck Miller from the Sorge Opera House revitalization group discussed the project to restore the facility.

Tim Abbot Duke Energy Community Relations Manager and Fairfield Council Member visited Middletown Council along with the Butler County Port Authority Executive Director Mike Campbell. The BCPA visits communities throughout Butler County at least twice a year.

Fairfield hosted the May 2013 Board Meeting of the Butler County Port Authority. Commissioner Rogers and Kenny Craig from the Greater Hamilton Chamber attended as guests. A new project was reviewed in Executive Session and seven current projects were updated.

Economic Development professionals from all over Butler County met to discuss the next steps in implementing the Local Government Innovation Fund Grant for the creation of an Integrated Development Budget.

The Butler County Port Authority welcomed Commissioner TC Rogers to the BCPA February 2013 Board Meeting. Chairman Magdich appreciated and thanked Commissioner Rogers for attending the Board Meeting. Commissioner     Rogers was appointed by the Commission as Commissioner Representative to the Butler County Port Authority.
